Thanks for the comments. Neck should be arriving this week hopefully and I have been told that the custom decal is at home.
@Discostu, after seeing your colour scheme, I may have to change the knobs and pickup covers to black rather than the cream. Not sure!
Bit of an update.........
Received the neck from
@GSPBASSES and what a piece of work it is! Feels absolutely dead on. A nice 9.5 radius 'board and a soft c profile. Feels really nice in my hand.
Wired up the pickguard and fitted this to the guitar. I plugged it in to check there was no huge hum etc and luckily there wasn't. What I did notice is that when I move the pickup selector, there is a pop as it moves position, Any pointers?
Once the pickguard was fitted, I moved onto the neck. It was a perfect fit in the neck pocket and using the stainless steel Wudtone neck plate, it was a doddle.
Mt favourite part of the build so far, and the part that made it mine, was fitting the decal that was purchased from @simonRF. It was a piece of cake and looks the dogs nuts!
I have given it a few coats of misted lacquer and am quite pleased with the results. There a few high/low points in the lacquer but I'm not sure whether or not to wet sand and polish once the lacquer has cured. I feel that as it is, it fits in with the rest of the finish.
I need to wait for the lacquer to finish curing and then I will be able to fit the machine heads and move on to setting it up.
I will post a link to the album on onedrive as it will probably be easier than posting individual photos.

No thanks to life getting in the way, this is finally finished! Nobody told me how much time a 1 year old would consume!

I have read the FAQs and still can't work out how to post bloody photos from flickr. But hopefully the above link should work!

Anyway, its the first six stringer that I have built (first effort was a bass from a kit) and I absolutely love it.
Fairly good spec, supervee trem, oil city pickups, gsp neck. It's fair to say that these parts make a really good combination and I would say it easily fills the void that my old American standard left!
One of the 'quackiest' strats I have heard when in the inbetween positions. If I could actually play, there would be a soundclip here!
Dark brown Tele next.........
