Troughton/Padbury and I can't recall ever seeing a James Bond film.

Pertwee(as I met him on set of DrWho and the green death) not sure about assistants, as I only watched it as a kid and was more interested in Elvis and Action men then ! Timothy Dalton, even though it was worst period for bond films, he was most like the Bond of the books. Daniel Craig 2nd just over Connerey.

I would actually agree with that, but the films were so poor it really didn't matter. Lazenby was the other way round in OHMSS - great film, crap Bond. To me, Craig is still not Bond though - he's a better actor than any of them, and Skyfall is a very good film, but it's not 'Bond' somehow. Connery will always be the definitive Bond - even Ian Fleming thought so after initially disliking him, he re-wrote Bond's family history to include Scottish ancestry… hence why Skyfall is in Scotland at all.

Why Dr. Who and Bond together though?!

I think Freema Agyeman is kinda underrated. She's the second best nu-Doctor assistant. A massive step up from Piper era.

The problem for me with Daniel Craig as Bond is simply that he's not suave enough: He's too much of a thug. Ian Fleming's Bond was far more sophisticated.
