I really like it too, but I'm guessing it must take more work to build than the standard flat front.

Certainly does, and I'm not sure it would work on all sizes of amp. I'd need to make router templates if I was doing any more of it.

I've made a start now on the first Goldstar for Feline.

The serial numbers have now been amended to 199, 200 and 201.

    This is #199 so far:image

This is the Fender flavoured one, with a Twin style AB763 preamp, with added master volume and SDM effects loop. All of the Feline amps will have switchable bias, so that pretty much any output valve from the 6L6 or EL34 families can be accommodated.

The cabinet will be covered in scrummy blonde tolex. It should be finished next week.

The amp is built now, and was tested at the weekend. Cabinet under way at the moment.

The amp sounds lovely and especially great with a spring reverb pedal in the loop. Pic shows the 6L6/EL34 bias switch. The eagle eyed will notice the switch is in the wrong position! The pic was taken just after testing with an EL34 and I'd just popped the 6L6 back in.

And here's the finished amp ready to go off to it's new home in Croydon!

My camera washes out the blonde colour a little, it's a bit creamier in the flesh.image

That is some very tasty wiring sir - very neat!

I like the metro loop too, it's a work of genius for small builders :-)

Hey hey - amp arrived this morning and have had fun playing her already.
Utterly fantastic is all I can say.
A really good proper clean amp with character.
With the mids dialled back to about 9 o clock it's nice and jangly like a Twin and dialing in more mids gets it more into Bassman-ish territory.
As it's only 10w you can turn up the power level and have it either with as much clean headroom as you want or as you bring up the gain the drive very slowly creeps in (actually the very slowly is a real bonus as there is a LOT of scope to get just the right sound)
Also being a low power single ended design with no negative feedback  the drive is nice and juicy and harmonically rich.
It'd be a bit like a Fender champ except as it's driving a 6L6 it's a bit less compressed sounding.

As I had enjoyed owning a Cornell Romany I was already used to that capability and the MJW doesn't disappoint.

I have yet to try it with many pedals although a quick blast via a ThorpyFX Gunshot was rewarding, although I fancy trying his Warthog pedal with this amp.
