Conclusion:The Church of Heinz (57 varieties)
All I know is that it had Bishops (not of the bashed kind), baptisms & Confirmation but no confession and is not RC but it has more in common with Presbytarian ideas etc.
My minister described himself and others in the church as agnostics of a sort.

just because you do, doesn't mean you should.
surely "poisoning mind" would be more appropriate?

My wider family were heavily Methodist including a minister and lay ministers. However, my parents had converted to Mormon, although I wasn't really raised as one. I was the 4th child and I think my dad decided he couldn't afford a religion anymore that requires 10% of your wages.
I became quite involved in Buddhism in my 20's and thought a lot about becoming an order member ( sort of monk without the natty threads). However, that fizzled really when I met the future MrsTheweary. At one point we did go to a Methodist church on a regular basis and the kids were involved in church activities. I enjoyed it without ever seeing myself as a Christian.
I do keep meaning to do something about re-engaging with Buddhism again and the Eric Jr's have some interest. MrsTheweary is of the opinion that it was good for me and practicing meditation again would be good for my mental health.
I do seem to quite enjoy religion although I have never had any actual belief in any kind of all powerful old man sitting on a cloud type of thing.
