RIP Dexter the cat

Thanks @cirrus for the kind words and we are a multiple cat home so we have two others aged 9 and 8 so they will be a consolation for now and maybe add a new rescue cat in the near future. Dexter himself was a stray that was to be put down so we couldn't let that happen, shame he didn't have a long and happy life like all our other cats, well bar a few over the years who did the lemming across the road thing until all 9 lives got used up sadly.

Sorry you lost a friend, as all cats and dogs who share our lives inevitably become friends, just remember a short and happy life is good too.

Just happy, it is a fantastic gift.

With a bleeding vengeance dude it has been rough for sure and the MIL is still hanging on by a thread so one more clusterfuck to come.

Still we got our Grandson's 5th birthday on Hogmanay and seeing him and his daddy (John Jnr) having some Christmas fun watching the wee dude open his pressies and helping him play with his toys, be rude not to.

But yes roll on 2014 for hopefully a peaceful year with some good luck.
