Drums for Reaper?

What's Hot
Hi folks,

I recently upgraded to windows 10 and subsequently some of my software is no longer supported, its older versions.
I used to run ez drummer into ableton lite for recording.
I have now gone over to Reaper, it does not seem to have any drum sounds? Can anyone recommend some good drum software that works well with reaper?

Thanks

  • Why not continue using EZDrummer? It works fine in Reaper and Windows 10.

I'd have to purchase it again as my version is about 5 years old and not supported for windows 10.
I just wondered if anything better or cheaper had come out in the last few years or if perhaps there was a drum sequencer/machine in Reaper I had not located.

I'm pretty sure there's a 64-bit patch version for the original EZDrummer which will make it work on Win10 - I believe that started with 1.3.0.

I searched the toontrack site and found nothing for the original ezdrummer lite just a patch for the version 2.

    Ahhh...you didn't specify EZDrummer Lite ;)

However, there is a 64-bit installer for that somewhere - I think you have to login to your Toontrack account to get downloads now.

Funnily enough, EZDrummer Lite (and the full original version) works perfectly under Linux :D

PowerDrumKit is free, albeit very simple (which actually suits me) and works fine in Reaperhttp://www.powerdrumkit.com/

Thers a drum template for Reaper available here-http://stash.reaper.fm/v/328/ReaDrums.RTrackTemplate - it's based on the inbuilt sampler and uses the MIDi grid for programming.
Drumatics - a non sample based electronic drum synth- has been round for a while- so I'm not not sure about Win 10- but worth a free download- here   http://www.vst4you.com/pages/vst instruments/drumatic_3.html

Thanks @rpr, that template is a useful shortcut and Drumatics works like a charm on Win10
