Ive always liked the look of those Squier supersonic offsets, especially the blue glitter version.

I had one for years, never should have sold I really but the short scale and didly feeling MIJ neck never really did it for me.

Likewise, although I quite liked the short scale.

It was an odd mix of nice woodworking and finishing (although there were some sharp stray glittery bits around the neck joint) with really shitty pickups and hardware.

They reissued it in this gorgeous orange flake. I'm still not 100% on the reverse headstock though.

That just looks a bit wonky.

Squier 51. As far as I'm concerned, a proper Fender. For those who want a Strat and a Tele in one guitar. More versatile than either, with that coil-tapped 'bucker in the bridge. Needs a dark amp though, the pickups are bright and there's no tone control. I got an immaculate blonde one for £90 on the 'Bay. http://static.musiciansfriend.com/derivates/18/001/561/646/DV016_Jpg_Large_H72865.002.001_blonde_mp.jpg

You could get a Fender Coronado for around £300-ish
where can I get a guitar stand like that?

Raygun Relics DC Junior for £325. Try to argue.
Isn't the bridge pickup in the wrong place?   ;)

Those stands are a LOT more expensive than a Hercules (in the long term...)

    ......Or the upside down body.

Fender seem to like just bunging odd bits together and calling it the Pawn Shop Series.

To be fair, the Super-Sonic itself predated the Pawn Shop series.

First released in 96 as part of the squire vista series. Had an RRP of about £450 if I remember right. Sold off cheap in 97-98, I think I paid £180

The body is not just a reverse jag, its also smaller.

Of course it looks even cooler played upside-down by Omar Rodriguez Lopez.

T'is true, although in my defence Fender have got form for chucking odd bits together and giving them a trendy name.

That said, I love that orange flake finish.

I probably got mine around the same time.  Maybe even the same shop.  It was one of those too cheap to resist deals, like the Joe Trohman Tele (although I did actually resist that one).

They certainly do have form, I've always quite fancied a Musiclander/Swinger although the arrow shaped headstock looks a bit weird.  And I wouldn't dream of paying vintage prices, should one be available.

And yes, the orange flake looks great.   :)

More likely she's thinking that this is a pretty tragic way to try to sell a guitar.

Not only that, it's not THAT nice a stand. I could think of many more suitable guitar stands.

  • I have a couple of Danno Hodads and a '59 and a pair of the guild dearmonds with the dynasonics on (mentioned earlier), a mustang, and a Gibson labelled epi dot and a Joe pass - all are cheapies and very good guitars... burns are good too... !

That's as maybe but she's one of the most decorative young ladies ever posted on this site.
