They recalled a crap load of tumbledriers due to fire risk. They offer to repair sometime in the next century or replace with a new £250 one for £60. Mine is about 8 years old, so its a no brainer

    Buy good quality stuff.
    We have the following brands.

    Fridge: Fisher and Paykel
    Washing machine: Bosch
    Dryer: Bosch
    Dish Washer: Bosch
Vacuum: Henry corded & Dyson cordless

Never heard of Fisher & Paykel, will look them up. Our fridge/freezer is on its last legs.

    More Bosch love here.

When we had our kitchen fitted about 18 months ago, the firm offered us Indesit appliances, or, for another £800, Bosch - this was for fridge, separate freezer, washing machine, double oven, and induction hob.

We took the Bosch deal, no problems so far.

I've got Bosch fridge freezer and Bosch washing machine - they're several years old and I expect them to last another 10 years. Also got a quiet Bosch dishwasher - every single time a visitor watches me turn it on, they comment how quiet it really is. Cost a bit more but they just work year in, year out.

Company from NZ- top quality stuff- I won't have anything else.

I believe you generally have to provide your own frillies, and you put them in the washing machine.

Alternatively, you might get some frills, sitting on the washing machine, although (so I'm told) only when it's spinning.

    HTH.

  • @TTony, or @Octatonic, is the premier edition tFB mug machine washable?

Does a single man need a dishwasher?

Just got a new Miele washing machine. £450 and worth every penny. The last one was bought in 1990. I think 26 years of reliable service is very decent!

Bosch, AO. I'd love to deviate from the norm, but can't in this instance :)

Yeah, but it sounds like a faff.

    1. Loading the machine.
    2. Putting the washing up liquid in the machine.
    3. Programming the machine.
    4. Unloading the machine.
    With the classic system.
    1. Dump it all in the sink and let soak with washing up liquid.
    2. Rinse and dry 2 hour later.
    Is it not easier, @Octatonic?

Don't forget Chris, you can't really put those paper plates in a dishwasher.
