Here's a place to bung stories, recite events, moments, achievements etc that seriously made you feel awesome..

so.. to start..

today I went shopping for the weekly food etc…

I'm at the checkout bagging my stuff up and chatting to the girlie about any old stuff

then she said "so are you a personal trainer or something??"

I'm like "what??? what makes you think that?"

she said, "all the food choices, the salad, veg, fruit, eggs, and fish and stuff… and look at ya"

so… after a few years of eating clean, training quite regular and quite hard

dropping from a 46" waist to a 32" and dumping almost 5 1/2 stone..

I finally get a comment like that from a total stranger..

smiled all the way to the car park..

Funnily enough I had the same thing last week !!  I was chatting up the girlie on the checkout and she said "Are you a women's running coach ?"  I said "No, what makes you think that ?".  She said "The food; the pies, the cakes, the beer - and look at you ! - You could make any woman run a three minute mile in the opposite direction".

As for me... someone came up to me after one of my old band's gigs once and said my playing reminded him of Plini. I said I'd never heard of him but thanked him anyway. So I go home, and look up Plini...

Well fuck!

I'm surprised/amazed he thought so, but still very flattered. Makes me smile when I think about it.

Last year I took my kids to a little blues gig when they were 4 and 2 years old.
Just 1 guy with a slide guitar. They sat wonderfully though the first set and i decided not to push my luck and went outside for the second set.
At the end I popped back in to buy a cd and a woman stopped me and said "can I just say I've been watching you. You have a wonderful family, just like you're out of a magazine"
I was walking on air for ages afterwards - if only she knew the truth!!!!

Mine is that I flew in a Spitfire a couple of months ago. That was definitely awesome.

Mine was getting ID'ed in the Co-Op the other day, despite having a beard and turning 23 in a few weeks. The idea that I could be under 18 was a novel one.

Yours is definitely better and more inspirational though.

Cool, must have been nice that. Can't say I ever met you as a lardy type Paul, but it does have to be said you are kinda fucking buff these days!

Only one I can remember was when I lived and played in Leicester back in the very early 90's, the local jazz-funk-shred hero said I was the only guitarist that worried him - "because you play like you really don't give a fuck". Never did work out if that was a compliment or not

Probably not in the same league as your story but I helped an old lady back to her flat in the block I live in. In fact she declined someone else's help to get mine instead!

If only the younger and sexier looking laydeez invited me round their place too lol

I've NEVER felt awesome in my entire life - pretty happy being aweless.
Being in awe of yourself is a rather disturbing and scary condition I would think, kinda similar to being humbled - by yourself, and what would the opposite to that be ?.

I passed a woman in the corridor at work, never spoken to her before, and from behind me she suddenly says "you look like you work out". I hasten to add that this was a good few years ago!
