Camembert... Brie a very close second...

Pretty much the whole week we were on a college trip to Paris i survived on Camembert, baguettes and red wine from local shops near Montmartre

@LastMantra, actually, one of the short-term incarnations of this forum had an entire subforum dedicated to cheese, so this is hardly without precedent.

You could use old guitar strings as a handy emergency cheese wire.
