I think it was at the British Music Fair at Olympia and I was fiddling with some keyboards. Bloke comes up to me, gives me a Yamaha business card and says, "If you ever fancy a job demoing this stuff, gimme a call".
As an eighteen year old, I was waaaay too metal to be playing keyboards for a living so I threw the card in the bin.
What it is to be young (and immensely stupid), eh?
Don't talk politics and don't throw stones. Your royal highnesses.

We did however do some shootouts with pedals. Verdict on those....
Vintage Dyna Comp vs Helix - Very good. Subtle feel differences but didn't spend much time dialling in.
Vintage Phase 45 vs Helix - indistinguishable. Exactly the same amount of subtle volume drop and everything.
Gold horsey Klon vs Helix - almost identical. Slightly less mids in the Helix but that just says to me we modelled a silver rather than the gold. Having owned all versions of the Klon I had the same experience.
Hopefully you all should know by now that I give a warts and all approach to talking about our gear. I'm not the type of salesman that says something is good if it's gash. If it doesn't do something I say so. If you lie you get caught out quickly. I need more time with it. I've been enjoying reading others experiences with it and will continue to follow that thread and try new things. I'm looking forward to having some fun with it. Pretty sure the snapshots are where I will live, purely as that seems to be the most like the way my G2 works. I probably don't need to do any kind of review as there are plenty of user reviews out now but I guess it would be good to share my experiences with it.
One thing I did take away from yesterday. I need an AC30 in my collection!
I play guitar and take photos of stuff. I also like beans on toast.

But a word of warning if any of those Marshalls are old enough to have aluminium chassis: do not leave them 'on end' for any length of time. It will accelerate the collapsing/tearing of the chassis due to the weight of the transformers. As shown to me by Phil at Marshall.
