I've had it 27 years so I guess it is staying.
The first guitar I bought back in 1989 and I still see no reason to part with it. A really solid workhorse rock guitar.
My black SG - that is just an incredible instrument.
*Probably* the green Squier Jap Strat - unless by some miracle my original one turns up in the same condition that I stupidly sold it in. Then I'd probably keep both...
My CAR Jap Jaguar - I've not played a Jaguar I have liked more. Everyone that plays it says its one of the best they have played - there's a que of folks wanting to buy it!
The Shergold 12 string - I sold it to @Monofin and the gent that he was, he sold it back to me when I realised I'd been a prize penis. Thanks, man.
My CS Strat because it's a great example and has some sentimental value.
My USA Schecter PT because it's one of the best guitars I've ever played.
Others are keepers by nature of the wife having bought them for me - but no hardship involved in their ownership whatsoever:
AVRI '65 Jag - wife bought it for my 40th last year, love it as it feels like an indulgence to have such a great esoteric instrument that isn't something I'd use all the time.
Taylor GA4 - all solid wood 4-series non-electro bought by wife as a wedding gift - all the acoustic I need.
Erm, that only leaves the one "slot", usually occupied by a Gibson of some type, for turnaround.
Lovely instrument indeed.
I’m so bored I might as well be listening to Pink Floyd

All very different and all superb.

All my guitars are either keepers or maybe keepers. 1) Tokai Jazz bass which has been with me since the 80's, can't see me wanting or needing another bass. 2) Reverend Manta Ray - recently re-sprayed, fitted with a Les Trem 2 and an Irongear Alchemist P90 in the neck. It pretty much has become my signature sound. Only thing I might do one day is to upgrade the P90. 3) Home built Jazzmaster - does everything I need that the Manta Ray doesn't. 4) Home built Toronado with twin WRH pickups - potentially an alt rock classic, however I'm not playing it enough - I hope to find it a role and therefore become a keeper. 5) Reverend Club King - a maybe keeper because I don't play it enough, but when I do it feels great.
1. Fender Richie Kotzen Tele (bought new in 2009); and
2. 1989 Ibanez Jem 7PBK (bought used in 1991).
I could probably just stick with these 2 for the rest of my days....but where's the fun in that?!
patrick eggle Vienna pro, had it since I was 16 (I'm 33 now) .. Too much history to ever let it go
ibanez 1527 - as it's signed by wes borland- so sentimental again
prs 2007 satin - as I love the feel and have never seen another one for sale
probably the taylor 414 too, but I know that I could get another so more out of being happy with it ...
Collings I 35 LC
Everything else is available at the right price!
I have a MIJ 62RI my wife bought me that will never go.
I have changed everything on it apart from the body and neck though.

Great guitar, I love how it feels and sounds.
I probably could never afford to replace it.

If we are not talking 80's girls toys then I can't imagine selling my DGT, and my first strat has a sentimental value, but no real financial value.
- All of my Suhrs will never be sold
- All of my Felines will never be sold
- The N4 is never going anywhere, (got to admit, can't say the same for the N4XX oddly)
- The JS Blackdog, JS1000 and Chromeboy will stay forever
- The Bonamassa ES335, Indigo Blue ES335 and Skinnerburst will be kept forever
- The PRS Private Stock, MEQ and Cu24 will also never leave
- The Knaggs will stay
So that means the Kotzen tele may go someday, but won't be for bloody ages. The N4XX may go too. What this means for my kids when I shuffle off however is a serious consideration as I don't ever want to leave them with a collection to have to sell. Been there, done that, not keen.
My music:- https://soundcloud.com/hubobulous
It was a summer of hard work and saving, it was used, but in good nick. When I'd sold it I could tell you where every mark on it happened.
First gig ... first "proper" band too. Swapped it and lent it to people, always came back.
Everything you'd want from a sentimental "keep forever guitar".
I was skint, and decided to pay off my credit card and move on. Best thing I did. It was becoming a bit of a millstone ...
Was guitar-less for a little while. Did me good.
Now get off my lawn
