  • In the booth, Note the piece of wood needed to be grafted in where the old wood had shattered, an original piece of 50's Gibson mahogany, Amazing work by Dave on this even with the wood bare you can not feel it under your fingers!

    Are the knobs original?! If so they're about the only bits that are ;) - but if so, it's a late '60 or early '61 just before the change to the SG shape.
    Junior it is of course - the Special had a bound fretboard and inlaid Gibson logo.

    I think it's an early one though - late 58 or early 59 as the edge radius got larger (3/8") during 1959 and this one seems to have the sharper radius.

    Anyone know the actual body thickness on the Junior's/Special's? (as opposed to the edge radius)

    They were generally around 1 3/4" but some were sanded down thinner than that.
