Hi All

A friend of mine has found this in his dad's attic and asked me if I could find out anything about it.  I said I might know a few people who could throw a bit of light  I guess, date, model and a stab at some sort of value would be helpful.  Anything you can think of really.

Cheers!

Hmmm - I thought that might happen.  I'll try and sort the pics.

Sorry if you know this already, but just in case this might be helpful, if you were trying to post pics directly from your PC you can't - they have to be housed on a hosting site like photo-bucket first, and then the links used from there.
I started out with nothing..... but I've still got most of it left (Seasick Steve)

Cheers @Voxman - I didn't know that, so really helpful.  I'll try and get them housed and then brought into here!

Use Imgur or anything other than photobucket if you want android users to see the pics.

Can we assist with the photography of the guitar?   Can someone shoot the breeze?

Perhaps an award-winning photographer would be handy here - anyone know one?
I play guitar because I enjoy it rather than because I’m any good at it

Okay working in on it.  Don't hold your breath though.  I'm worried you all think it's a '54 or something :)

Why don't you describe it - and we'll take a punt on what it is.

Then do the pics as a 'big reveal'?

Okay @richardhomer - good game, although I was trying for the longest thread about absolutely bugger all.

    So, from what I see:

It is maple neck, skunk stripe on the back, traditional small headstock with truss rod access at the headstock and the older style tuners (can't remember what they're called).  It has a 3 or 4-ply tortoise shell pick guard, noiseless pickups (coffee coloured), black tone knobs, body is dakota red or fiesta red.  On the back the neck plate is 4 screws and says Fender Corona California.  There is a round hole in the middle of the bottom two screws (as if a third screw could be added?).  The back plate is white with a complete opening for access to tremolo block/ease of string change.

I think that's as much as I can say, but ask any questions and I'll try to answer them as best I can.

Wish I could think of a prize for the person who gets it spot on.  One of @gassage 's guitars?

Does it have a serial number, if so what is it (you can xxx out the last 3 if you want to)?

I can't see one - not on the neck plate.  Would it be anywhere else?

    Should be on the headstock.

Further thoughts - if it's Corona, that makes it > '84ish?

On a Corona built USA one it would either be on the face, or rear of the headstock.

Do the pickups have 'Noiseless' written on them?

The puzzler is the tuners - old style ones have split posts (the originals were made by Kluson) - Corona period ones were generally cast-bodied ones branded 'Fender' or Sperzel locking ones.

    I'm intrigued.

    Any pics?

There isn't a serial number on the headstock - just the usual Fender watermark stuff.

    It's definitely an electric guitar.
