Any recommendations for a good buffer pedal?

Ideally without any power needed (if that's even possible) but most importantly utterly tiny and quality of tone.

I'll have to tie it underneath my Pedaltrain 2 so it needs to be always on too if that's an optional thing?

A buffer is going to need power. 

Why don't you get something with a good buffer in it like a Klone, or a Hotcake?

I think the Freric buffer on it's own is closest to what I want but that Empress......hmmmmm...    could that replace my SHO clone? hhmmm....

I can't find one of those Bearfoot pedals anywhere.

If I had a load of true bypass pedals i'd put a buffer at the beginning and end of my pedal chain.

I won't have loads, it will be 

tuner > SHO Clone > a fuzz and compressor (not decided yet which but highly likely going to be TB) > a True Bypass modded Buzz Box > POG 2 > Strymon Mobius > amp.

Then a Timeline and Flint in my loop

My current tuner is a Boss TU2 but I was wondering if something with a better buffer might do the trick but to be honest I'd rather get a dedicated buffer so I know what I'm buying etc....that Empress is looking better by the minute!

Your mobius has a pretty decent buffer that can be switched on, have you tried that?

No actually as it isn't in my posession yet. Now that is interesting as I assumed it was TB? Also does the buffer not need to be at the start of the chain? For best results etc...?

Well it can run both true bypass and buffered, and it can run in pre post mode where you can effectively plug direct into the mobius and then get an fx to your drive pedals, back into the mobius and off to your amp. So it could buffer early in your signal chain. It's a clever box.....

You're right buffer early, although that depends on your fuzz. A buffer at the end is still better than nothing as it drives the cable back to the amp. I quite like it towards the end as I find I quite like the loading you get from some overdrive pedals, and you don't need to worry about ruining your fuzz tone!

Don't know if you are sorted yet but i really recommend the Fredric fx buffer. Goes under my pedal train 2 with i bit of pedalboard tape. Job done and it really does the job extremely well. It's really cheap for the quality that it is too..

Well you could kind of buffer with a transformer, but it won't really work all that well. You could solar power it, your tone gets brighter when the sun shines.

Personally I like the cornish buffer, they're just so big though!
