So, I live very, VERY close to a small guitar shop. Like, dangerously close for my bank balance.
The crew are incredibly friendly, welcoming and always make me feel like it's cool to just pop in, sample the merchandise, hang around for ages, talk bollocks.
On another note, the only 60s Fender I would ever be realistically interested in owning is a mid-60s Mustang, preferably in dakota red, as original as possible.
Guess what they got in today?

Not mint, but original finish. Still with the case and vibrato arm, which
never happens normally.
Once it had strings on, it was just
perfect. The sound was wonderfully balanced at all pickup positions, the vibrato was excellent and held tuning without a problem. The neck is chunky but very comfortable.
There isn't a chance in hell I can afford this anytime soon. But one day, Billy, one day you will own one of these.

I seriously regret selling my '66 one, which was exactly like that, also with the arm and case.

Glad I don't live near such an establishment.
You'll only regret it if you don't - and you can always sell it if you do

they always seem cheap when I've see them.
I sold mine for £650 about fifteen years ago
