Do I need a loop pedal?

So a quick update, after buying a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable, the MacBook works perfectly to achieve what I wanted with the THR10. Just hit record and play, then click 'repeat' and playback through the amp via the aux in.

Thanks to there being a separate volume control for guitar and aux in on the amp, it was really easy to do and get the right level, so I'll save the cash for a looper pedal for another day...

Whilst I'm just playing in a bedroom it's a practical solution without spending any more cash I don't have

Spotify has lots too. Search for 'backing track' or 'karaoke'.  A looper helps rhythm playing and timing.
