That same gutar sold (maybe to this guy, maybe someone else) for about £1500 about a year ago - I was considering buying it at one point when it was first put up. I would be flabbergasted if anyone paid 14-15k for it.

"Monstrous tone. You can basically sell off all your other guitars you have after this".

Or apparently you can keep them and try sell off this for 14k?

  • It's been up a few times at that price. Rather optimistic methinks.

  • I'm sure it's a good guitar, but no guitar is worth 14k, especially a used one.

It seems quite  likely a guitar  that sells for that price will often be a used one.

If you're hoping for that kind of money, posing the guitar on last night's bedsheets is not a great idea.

    It's got 'beltbuckle rash'.
I'd expect at least 50 quid off the asking price.

Yup, I considered this on Facebook. I know Doug is totally fucked off at this guy for buying and trying to flip at such a profit.

It's so thin. I think it would snap in half when I carry it on my back in a non-padded vinyl carry bag. Those hard cases are heavy!

    Originally a free gift, too!
so if you fancy a reissue of a guitar they never made in a colour they never used then it probably isn't too overpriced.

He must be double fucked off that he gave it away and now someone is trying to profit from that gift by association.

I find myself conflicted though, there is no way I would sell my house for it's original sale price or the cost to build in 1931 and most try to sell items at a price the market will bear however on the other side of the arguement I don't agree with such profiteering. That said who would sell a 1959 Les Paul for £5000 instead of £250,000 or whatever laughable sum that is an asking price.

    In short, it's complicated.
