I don't mind an HB in the bridge, but it's not stratty enough for me without SCs in the middle and neck. I'm a rosewood fretboard person as well.

Nice, as long as it's not a stupid price. Can't go wrong with Lollar Imperials, and considering he's already got 3 SSS signatures, a double humbucker could be forgiven. It ain't a strat though, I agree.

The earliest ones with 'Fender' on the headstock were the post-CBS Japanese ones in the mid-80s.

They're against the natural order of things. Some things are just not right....

Yeah, but people were modding them with humbuckers way before that, as seen on numerous episodes of the Old Grey Whistle Test. Combining humbuckers with (or without) single-coils on a bolt-on guitar is a very good thing, and I'd much rather do it on an actual Strat than on an Ibanez or Suhr or something.
