    I remember the Wilson Rapiers.  My cousin had a red 4 p/up version that he loaned me.  I had to restring at as he was left handed.  I remember the neck was very thick and the action quite high, but it sounded pretty decent, and playing with the different p/up options was fun.
    I started out with nothing..... but I've still got most of it left (Seasick Steve)

  • I think I remember the Wilson Rapier's being advertised in the 'Bells' catalogue in the mid 70's.  Nice score.
    No Darling....I've had that ages.

    have to favour the Watkins as first choice @HarrySeven ;

    That Rapier takes me back, it was one of my first 'electrical' guitars as they were called back when I were a little lad.

    Love 'em!!! Do they need a lot of work to make 'em playable?

  • I remember watching a rig rundown with Jamie Hince from The Kills a while ago and he's obsessed with the pickups on those Hofner's - mentions how they're super clean and have a huge bass response. He basically harvests as many of the pickups as possible so kudos on beating him to those ones.

    Indeed...I've not had a Rapier for a while, so it's nice to have one back - and it's a good companion for my other Wilson.

    That's a lovely clean example of a Rapier. I remember poring over the catalogue in 69/70. Is that the original paint or has it had a refin?
