Just arrived back from The Dales after many pork pies and lots of Theakston's Old Peculiar.
Got my kit ready for the morning and I'm aiming for 5k. Haven't been out in ages so it might be a struggle  :)

    January 2nd: (5 +) 9.5km = 14.5km total

Big run today- we parked up at the entrance to Blenheim Palace, ran around the grounds and into central Woodstock, had lunch and then ran back.
    Quite tired now.
I drove past earlier and could have given you a lift  ;)

I've never had a yearly target before so I'm going to go for 520 km as I'm still a noob. That might be 2x5k per week or it might be over 3 runs per week.

On rest days I'm still going to try and walk for 30 mins, but I won't include that in the running total.

I just wish the ice would sod off. I have a real fear of slipping over and reinjuring a hernia or 2.

I'm in. Last year did 1783 miles. I was aiming for 2016 but had a 6 week injury period with a dodgy heel!!

So this year I'm going for 2017 miles!! I have several big races lined up (4 x 100 miles) which although sounds like it'll build mileage quickly, there is the taper (2 weeks) and recovery(10-14 days) to contend with. Plus some warm up races which I'll still taper for a little.

So far done 2 runs this year giving 27.6 miles.

Are any of you on Strava to log your runs? Could setup a fretboard group on there?

I forgot my daps today, so no lunchtime run. Doh. I have a half marathon in 8 weeks and haven't really started on the long runs. I sort of have, in that my Saturday morning jog + Parkrun + jog equals about 9 miles, but there are short rests in between.
Some folks like water, some folks like wine.
    My feedback thread is here.

I did another 7k home from work today.
In fact I've done 7k every day since 17/12/16- I've worked virtually every day so cycle one direction & run the other.
    21k for the year.

I only did 800km last year.  I did have heart issues and 3 months off after an op to correct them so it's not too bad.
I'm back running again but I'm a long way from where I was (pre heart stuff) and even further from where I want to be.  My plan is to build up a bit of strength and endurance while loosing the extra 18lb I'm carrying, then crack on with some actual training.

I'm not planning any events but I`ll run as many club races as I can and see where I am in 6 months.

I think if things go well then I should end up doing about 1500km. Maybe more if things go well.

    Good running!
I'm up for a Strava group if there's interest.

I've created a club on Strava here

    https://www.strava.com/clubs/theFretboard

Add yourselves in.  Once we have a few on there I'll create some as admins :-)

@TTony are we Ok to use the fretboard logo on this as a header?  Thank

@mcsdan Very impressive running. I use Strava so will definitely join the group later when I go for a run.

Good idea for a thread @octatonic count me in.

I'll use 1000km as a target, hopefully can do more.

First run of the year this morning - 8km

http://www.running-log.com/ is a useful site for recording your progress, if you're not using any specific apps etc.

I've joined up so now there's 2 of us!

Heart rhythm is now normal which is good.  Everything's still feels very hard though so I`m taking it easy.  It will come back in time I`m sure.

@DamianP and another just joined so 3 of us! I've made you an admin btw.

Good to hear heart is normal again :-)

  • I'll join in as well. I did a 10k yesterday, quite a slow pace because it was quite hilly and the cold air mixed with a few car exhausts made it quite tough going! I use Garmin connect so I'll have to see if I can sync it with strava...
