Comments
First up:
CD#1 Kris Delmhorst - Songs For A Hurricane
I found this artist via a friend's Myspace page, back when that was the No 1 place for me to find new music. Not listened to this one for years, which is a shame as she's got a great voice and I liked it a lot.
CD# 2 The Unthanks - Here's The Tender Coming.
I really like the way their vocals intertwine, tonally and stylistically they're very distinct but complimentary. While I have other albums of theirs I think this is the only CD (the others will have to wait for Playing All My Downloaded Albums) - overall another enjoyable album.
CD #3 Lo-fi Lung - Heading for Those Trees/ Sit Down For A Day
Two four song EPs from a duo/band that were part of a gig I played (IIRC in Birmingham somewhere) great fun live, plus I got a packet of seeds which I still have somewhere.
CD# 4 Smashing Pumpkins - Gish
There was a recent thread on a forum that asked for bands people would like if one thing was changed, and number of them included bands where they'd prefer a different singer, SP being one. For me the vocal is one of the stand out things about Smashing Pumpkins and they'd be less interesting without it.
Sadly I'm not in a position to listen to it at the optimum volume, some music is SO much better when it's rattling the windows :O)

I can't resist having a troll though CD's at boot sales/charity shops at 50p- £1 each.
Recently I've mostly picked up s/h ones from a little stall in Exmouth Indoor Market (190 miles from my house, but I visit my Dad every six weeks or so) 3 for £10, and occasionally from Amazon - it's because I've accumulated so many recently that I thought I ought to put them in a bit more order, and catch up with listening to them.
I could do with getting a dedicated CD player - I currently play them using the CD drive in my PC but after a few plays it starts making a ticking noise which is annoying.
I must have way over 2,000 CDs, but I couldn't guess the actual number.
At least 10 years ago I built some floor-to-ceiling shelves along my hallway which fitted all the CDs and DVDs I had at the time, so they're still in A-Z order (the CDs that is, the DVDs were never in order). Everything I've bought since is just scattered around the place in piles, anywhere there's a flat surface. I'll never have time to sort them out unless I win the lottery and give up work.
But anyway, @Paul_C, are you going to review them all one by one? This will turn into an epic thread.
I'm ahead of you
I already decided that updating this every day might get annoying so I've just started a blog to document the progress (or lack of) and keep out of the way of everyone who might have got sick and tired of this pretty quickly.

Supportact said: [my style is] probably more an accumulation of limitations and bad habits than a 'style'.
CD#5 Jonatha Brooke - The Works
Another artist found via Steve Lawson (and not the last) this is a collection of songs with lyrics chosen from the huge archive of Woody Guthrie lyrics. For her part Jonatha does a great job and is accompanied by some great musicians including Joe Sample and Steve Gadd.
