Well the initiation process here is not onerous…
I don’t have to tell you about my ‘gal’, or what sort of pups she has, or how I would really like to upgrade to a MIA or show you photos of my questionable taste in sofas that is covered by 15 versions of the same guitar.
My answers are…
Q1: It’s my job.
Q2: Scotland
Q3: Make the missus happy.
Q4: Pick of destiny (NOS, not available in the shops…)
Q5: Midnight Moses, Sensational Alex Harvey Band. Any live version, but this one is pretty definitive…

Just like to say that I don’t spend too long online and I looked around for a useful/interesting guitar site (it was a tortuous process – however Offset Guitars is very good indeed) and I can see that there are many people here willing to make their extensive and useful knowledge and opinions available without being an arse about it.
When things get technical, electrical or historical, I’ll be in touch.
Thanks,
Ddig

I love playing guitar but am still awful at it after thirty years of trying ... :-) As a bassplayer I always mistrusted the B string so the past few years I have been using P4 tuning (EADGCF) which is more logical to me for riffs and lead lines, and the fancy jazz chords I like are all possible ... works on my 8 string too (EADGCFA#D#)
Q1: Where did you username come from?

Q3: What's your main musical ambition?
To keep writing a song a week as I have been doing since 2008. Oh, and to get a good clean sound ... what a mystery that is! I'm currently eschewing an amp and instead going DI through a focusrite Trakmaster using its compressor, tube emulation and a dollop of eq ...
Q4: Your "best" bit of gear - just the one?
The tele I made out of some ash and sycamore that fell down in my garden. I call it the rustic-caster as it's all unpainted and woody ...
Q5: Your #1 ever track - again, just the one?
Uncle Remus by Frank Zappa -- like all Zappa you just ignore the politically incorrect lyrics and enjoy the playing -- George Duke's piano, Tina Turner on BVs and Frank's mind-bending guitar tone ...Just started learning the guitar at the younge age of 56. Been at it for about nine months and to be honest I’m pretty much addicted to it. Only acoustic as that’s what I really like, ballads and some country and folk, with a little rock thrown in.
Managed to get a few simple songs under my belt but finding it really difficult, but not going to give up as I love it.
Q1 Username is my dogs name.
Q2 I’m from South Wales
Q3 only ambition is to learn to play some of those songs that I’be heard over the years.
