But it is easy to overthink these things

Any more pics yet ?
I did add a slight tobacco tint to the neck, but other than that it looks as it did above

I need to do a bit more work finessing the plate bevel, but its not too far off done now.
hard to capture the colour though
we have light grainfill + sunken grain to try and get an aged appearance.. plus a few chips, and some checking on the go, this one wanted to follow the grain
the neck is less aged other than a tint and light checking... makes sense if you think of it as a 50's body with 70's neck replacement.
looks paler in this light, but shows headstock is now black. wasn't sure about this, but I now think it works well for some contrast

Just come to do the fretwork and there is a very obvious bump at the 13th fret... I assume a fret must have popped.
Nope. I somehow switched wire at the 13th fret to a bigger size. Sometimes nice when frets get smaller up the top end, but this is less than ideal.
Therefore the next job will be to replace frets 13-22. The boards still level so I shouldn't need to redo it all.
I can only assume my fretwire got mixed up when I cleared out the old workshop a couple of years ago.
This may be the silliest mistake I have made for a while. At least it wasn't a popped fret, as that would make me question the rest

Thankfully it is. Kubrick approves.
Also bevelled the guard more, but i need to get that bottom layer a bit more even yet.
Suddenly its starting to look like a proper guitar

If I may add a small criticism though , those bridge locking screws are looking out of place being so long .
Great job @WezV
