Not sure about the high register. Would be a great one for Neil. Reminds me of one of his but can't think which. Cripple Creek Ferry maybe.

No it wasn't that. Now I've dredged the memory banks it's "The Range War" by Todd Rundgren.

Well, I hadn't heard of the artist at all, but that was rather good.  Cheers!

Just a final thought.... I find it really hard to sing these songs in my head correctly. I have to refer to the album to hear it the way Jason sings it. I think there is something in that, that keeps me coming back again and again.

I did slightly wonder if you were making this up but found it on YouTube music and was pleasantly surprised by the first track (no spoilers!). I can't make Wednesday but I will listen to the rest later this week.
My spoiler would have been Green on Red although the references to Neil Young for that track are in the same ball park I guess.

Catch up later in the week with the rest!

    Yep. I’m up next.

Need an album - do we prefer:
    1) unknown indie Radiohead-esque legends
    2) a dreamy heartland masterpiece of a live album
    3) a shoe gaze classic that I’ve never given proper attention to
    4) something Icelandic…
    5) the best hard rock record of this century?

[note: I reserve the right to not give you what you want..!]

Sad I missed this, one of my favourite albums, Peoria lunchbox blues and farewell transmission are on regular rotation.
Will give it a full listen tomorrow.

@stickyfiddle ;I might be wrong but I thought "live" albums were excluded and it was just studio albums.

Ah, maybe. In which case I won't use that one. Shame though - live albums are great!

In the original thread it just says
usually a classic or something deserving of revisiting
Plenty of classic live albums! (some less live than others, of course ...)

I'm listening to The National's High Violet for the first time in ages today and it is very reminiscent of this album.

Interesting! Also a favourite of mine but I never made a connection between The National and Songs Ohia.

I'd like to know what that is, even if it doesn't end up as your listening party choice.
