My 1st Gibson was a wine red L-6S deluxe which I bought s/h from Andertons in the early 80s - the J Hulke years! - and cost £200. I was in my 30s at the time.
Now this (link below) is at Guitar Village just down the road from me. I know it says walnut in the link but you will see it is wine red and exactly the same as the one I had, except for the replaced knobs.....and 10x price!
But NO it's time to be SENSIBLE....
I'm old now (70 in June) and I sold the first one for a reason, which was the board seemed a little narrow for my taste.
I've got quite enough guitars and should rotate them more.
Having another would mean finding space for it, insuring and worrying about it etc, and it's just another guitar.
If I go and try it I may end up buying it. YOLO, it would be a nice 70th birthday present, and of course I can think of many other reasons why this should be an essential purchase. But I need to be getting shot of gear, not buying more, at my age.
Bah...

But what do I have a real yearning to buy?
A proper Marshall plexi. And a variac and a Fryette PS-2 to actually make it usable, and a good 2x12.
Absolutely stupid desire, but I cannot shake it at the moment.
I’m so bored I might as well be listening to Pink Floyd

But that's veering off-message in this thread.... go for it!
Everything on 10 but at whisper volume is possible with the PS-2.

Hopefully he’ll be retired within five years, will have paid off any mortgage, and will have time on his hands. Buy nice stuff, go on holidays, do the things you want to do. Better this than selling stuff because you’re worried that the kids will have to tidy up after you.
I'm still not saying the OP shouldn't buy this L6-S.
