Wordle and Nerdle have been part of my morning routine for a while now.

But only when I'm sat here with the laptop in the morning. If I'm away, then there's a stats break (hence the current streak is only 48).

At least it's not just me who is irritated with Intro - I spent ages trying to come up with a viable alternative.

@the_jaffa I think that the guitar related word would be banjo. As I use audio for my starting word, I didn't have that as an option.

Prior to intro, I'd tried outro.

That was annoying.

I've a feeling we've had 'outro' previously. Before the intro, which can't be right.

I'm liking 'Strands' (one of the other NYT games) at the moment.

There's around 12,000 words in the Wordle 5-letter word dictionary.

Of which, 1,000-ish have been used so far.

I read that there were only around 2,000 words on the Wordle list. There are of course many thousands more five-letter words in the English language, but many of them would be considered inappropriate, too obscure, adopted foreign words, etc.

According to this site, you may well be right!

12,972 5-letter words in the English language, but only 2,309 believed to be potential Wordle solutions.

Today was interesting. It is the first time since Wordle began that the word was completely new to me.

I spent a long time on it and was getting worried, but with few letters left, I took a guess and got it on the 5th.

Is it just me or was today's word new to anyone else? I had to look up the meaning.

I'd never heard of today's word either. I got it on the sixth attempt. I had the first four letters and from the remainder there was only one letter that would go. I bet many people had their streak curtailed today.

I got 4 letters in 3. Gutted to have guessed a Y for the last place, but trying to maximise data gathering each turn rather than always push for a low score

I was familiar aoth today's word as I've read some back in a day. Had it in four though as I went with a fruit first (type, not the actual word).

There were however few words that I haven't heard before in few years of doing wordle though.
