That doesn't stop me from getting mildly annoyed at the rude ones who don't have the courtesy to find out what the rules about selling are before they post their ads.
I've been playing 30 years and have been through *quite a bit* of gear (most bought and sold secondhand).
But I boil down to just 350 frets.
Can you really make any judgement solely based on that number, relative to anyone else?
It's an important draw for the site.
That's not a win for anyone.
Another approach to the minimum post count would be a minimum duration of membership.
Or just leave things as-is.
However, there should be a new rule that any guitar sale thread that does not include an accurate and verified weight for the guitar, should be sunk without trace until the weight is added!

Or just use common sense. It’s the buyer’s choice to use PPG and chance it or pay the fees and get some protection. If any new seller objected to me using regular PP I’d walk away from the deal.
I'm another who joined MR to sell stuff, and ended up posting a bit. I then found this place once MR disappeared and posted a lot more regularly. Classifieds are a big draw, and although a lot don't, people who join initially to sell, do become regular posters.
All the stuff I've sold on here has been to members with very low fret counts and a relatively low number of posts as I'm left handed and there is a pretty small crowd to sell to. I think as has been said before, you get a feel quite quickly for those who are genuine and those who are pulling your plonker.
The last item I sold was the most valuable of all the gear I have got rid of (around 2k), and it was sold to a guy who only joined as he saw the add on a Google search. I'll admit I was dubious at first but after a few PMs and a telephone conversation was quite confident he was alright.
Even if the rules are changed, people will find a way around them. It's how humans work, for better or for worse.
I can't help about the shape I'm in, I can't sing I ain't pretty and my legs are thin
But don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to
