If I was in the market now I would be looking at Jaguar F-Type convertibles.
I’m looking for an F-Type for my second mid-life crisis car. Or I might go all-in and swap the Merc for a Bentley Coupe if the footballers have moved on to something else by then.

I have no problems getting in and out of the Elise but for a daily driver the leaks and noise would annoy me, and I liked the heated seats in the MX5.

I'd go for the mx5 as a reliable sports car and get the 456 too.
I’ve seen better looking cows arses
It seems like a lifetime ago now when I bought my first brand new ‘S’ in 2006, which I did all sorts to including adding a mental Stage 2 exhaust, before trading it in against a new ‘R - White Edition’ in 2009
I did a lot of miles in both, but like you also had other more sensible cars at the same time.
Absolutely. Stunning.
There's always the Audi R8, too.

Still say you can't beat an 80s 911 ....you'll grow to love the looks and the handling characteristics

A sixties classic .... 1969 Alfa GTV 1750 (circa £50k)
Two newer classics from say 1991 ... Lotus Elan (£10k) and BMW Z1 (£30-£35k)
An '05 Aston Martin DB9 for under £30k.
Any TVR ... take your pick ... £10k to £40k+
A Chevy Corvette. In production for over 50 years, so plenty of choice.
Maserati Ghibli ... under £30k for a 4 year old 3 litre V6 coupe with 35,000 miles?
And Pistonheads.co.uk have five listed in their classifieds. One for auction. The other four are all over £200,000. All low mileage examples, too.
