You know, your average human being contains 1 heart, 2 lungs, 2 kidneys, 1 liver, and several pints of blood, which are collectively worth quite a lot on the black market. I'd imagine...

He's 12. Does that mean they would be worth more or less?

Yeah it wasn't fun. The house is a somewhat miserable place at the moment.

No but it appears buying players in the virtual world is as expensive as the real world!

Personally I wouldn't give up on a refund especially for that amount.

It must be blatantly obvious through your account history that you don't spend that amount.
    Nobody is guaranteed tomorrow.....

I feel your pain Ross, my lad did me for £300 on Fifa 17 last year. This year he's earning money by doing chores for me which he can then spend on his own  FIFA points.

Couple of years ago my son ( so about 14 or 15 at the time)  bought a load of in app purchases for something or other. I’d used my credit card to buy the initial thing and the site stored my details. He knew it was costing money but as there was no immediate consequence he thought he was somehow getting away with it. Weeks later the credit card bill comes through, load of purchases I don’t recognise so I call up the credit card company to say someone is scamming me. Nice lady at the Halifax says she recognises the name of the company, it’s a games company who make
( whateverthefuckitwas) and suddenly the penny drops.
About £300 which was also about the amount he had in his savings post Xmas and his birthday so we had that off him. Pretty much that or kill him.

  • If it was purchased on a credit card wouldn't you have extra protection against this sort of thing?

That’s more than Wenger spends at Arsenal in a season.

I suspect the young chap has been suitably admonished, but it seems to me that a game that permits such spending must be deliberately geared towards encouraging in-app purchases: a dangerous recipe when it’s also aimed at youngsters. Good luck in your negotiations!

Absolutely. It's the way a big chunk of the industry is going, particularly with the stuff made & published by EA (which includes FIFA).
