Forum partitioning

Assuming that you're not on a phone ...

Go the forum's home page (click theFretBoard logo, top left of the page).
That gives you the view of all the categories.
As you hover your mouse over the title of each category, a black cogwheel appears just to the left of the  number of threads column.
For the sections that you want to exclude from Recent Discussions, click the cogwheel and select Hide.

If/when you want to reinclude the excluded section, just repeat the above process, but this time the option - for sections that you've previously hidden - is to unhde them.

I'm surprised by that as you've certainly posted a great deal and a lot of good stuff. I do wonder if society as a whole is politicked out at the minute. 

Maybe just feeling of generic disenfranchisement perhaps ?

Not that I stray into politics that often, but both of you, and also some others missing in action, are often a source of much needed insight, intellectualism, balance and reason.
