My older brother took me to see Black Sabbath in 1978......a new band called Van Halen were the support, I was 10....happy days.
    I was 16.
so if you fancy a reissue of a guitar they never made in a colour they never used then it probably isn't too overpriced.

    I think I've got this.

I saw the Grimethorpe Colliery Band, the Carleton Main Colliery Band, and the Brighouse and Rastrick Brass Band at Sheffield City Hall 19th August 1968.

My earliest was Eric Clapton at the Manchester Apollo in 1978. Muddy Waters was the support - a bit much for a 14 year old to take. He actually scared me!

EC played for about an hour - I now know from the EC documentary that half-hour sets weren’t unusual around this time as he was so pissed....

Probably about ‘70 or ‘71. The first one that sticks in my mind is Thin Lizzy at The Greyhound in Fulham Palace Road in ‘73.
I play guitar because I enjoy it rather than because I’m any good at it

  • I wasn't born until '75. Not fair.

Although, my first proper gig was being taken to see Queen at Wembley.

Someone in 1970/1 at the Boat Club Nottingham. Barclay James Harvest possibly or Wild Turkey, or Free at the Moor Farm Inn, or ....hmm memory not very good. Twas a good time for music though.

Missed Led Zep at the Boat Club (200 person venue) , one of my mates turns up at school Monday morning saying he'd seen a cracking band called Led Zepellin. Nobody had heard of them at that point.
