Who's the best front man, or woman, of all time?

What's Hot

I was watching some archive stuff of the Faces from the early 70's and thinking apart from what a great live band, what a front man Rod Stewart was in those days. He had it all, the voice, the look, the moves.  But the best of all time?  I reckon Gene Vincent was probably the best there's ever been, though I suspect not everyone will agree..?

    Woman - Debbie Harry

  • +1 for Freddie. One of a kind.

  • The test for this is, "Could they pull off what Freddie did at Live Aid?".

The answer, for anyone I can think of other than Freddie, is "no".

Purely on charisma rather than singing (as that really should be a different thing) .

      Bon Scott .

And i imagine a lot of people would say Liam Gallagher which i don't get as he has zero stage presence for me , looking like you want a punch up isn't good .

Close the thread before any more people embarrass themselves by saying something other than Freddie

  • Having seen Freddie in his hey day he was a hard act to follow, charisma and stage presence was amazing.
I think Bruce Springsteen in the early days was great but later it was a bit more cliched.

    I'd agree with Freddie...

Personally I really like the way Eddie Vedder gets pissed throughout the evening but still has banter... But I know he's not everyone's cuppa

I think that Live Aid set from Queen pretty much proved Mercury was the best front man ever .... I've certainly seen nothing to top it.
