I am in marathon training so I will continue eating lots although 1730 is rather earlier than I am used to. I will probably have time to get back for dinner

I popped in my local for a quick snifter on my way home. Nice to see @aord43 @ESBlonde @Alnico and @Bridgehouse ; again, pleasure to meet @darthed1981. We had a good time in the PMT shop, then hung out in a coffee shop, then moved on to the Taj Tandoori where we had more fun and good food. Mine was Chicken Jalfrezi (comes with pilau rice) plus Mushroom Bhaji. It was the hottest Mushroom Bhaji I've ever eaten.

Thanks for a good time, you lot, hope we don't leave it too long before doing it again. Long Live the Cambridge Cartel Curry!

PMT were great.
They let us pretty much do what we wanted and spend as long we wanted doing it.

What I  realised as the afternoon went on was the total lack of rushing around and time to do whatever we wanted made it genuinely fun.
We all rush enough

That was like hanging around with your mates for the day used to be.

They were, too. Unfortunately they didn't have the PSU for the Yamaha keyboard (apparently it needs 12V), but they did have one which would drive my FreqOut pedal, plus they let me play the two Epiphone New Century series acoustics they had in there.

I wanted to try all 3 of the archtops. They had the baby model, which was rather cute, and they also had the biggest one except it was the round hole version, and I'm interested in the f-hole models. I liked the big round hole version as it had a big sound, but I figured that I was more interested in a sound that would mix well with other instruments, which you get from the baby model. In the end they told me that they could get both the middle and the big versions, in vintage sunburst (yay!), with F-holes, if I laid some money on them, and they'd let me know when I could come for a test drive. So I expect to be back there soon, and maybe walking away with the ol' fashioned kind of guitar I've been gassing for, for quite a while now. They do seem to be clean & tidy instruments and well made.

@Phil_aka_Pip  - I was surprised by how good those Epiphones sounded and felt (quality wise) for the cash.

I was impressed that you managed to get the table right by "the facilities".  Lucky that they still had that table left when you lot turned up ...

The facilities were also blessed with being right beside the kitchen access too, the bloke walking away centre distance was a waiter. On the plus side we could hail a waiter as they all passed our table repeatedly.
On the downside, everything that went passed looked and smelled better than what we'd ordered!
