What's your rig worth?

OK, I'm curious...what's the monetary value of your entire setup? For the sake of comparison, let's just talk about new replacement value (ie what you'd put on your insurance forms).

For me...

Jaden Rose Series 2 £900.00
Washburn N4 (backup) £1,800.00
Jet City JCA50H £240.00
Jet City JCA24S cab £125.00
Pedalboard £10.00 (self built)
Polytune Mini £70.00
Mooer Ninety Orange £60.00
Boo Instruments Boost £45.00
TC Flashback £130.00
Bright Onion footswitch £30.00
Patch cables £40.00
Instrument and speaker cables £100.00

Total £3,550.00

That's actually a lot less than I thought...guitars aside, the rest of the rig would only be £850 to replace from new.

For me now I've tamed the rig back:

R8 Les Paul with Lollar imperials - £2500 to replace with new
    Gibson 60's tribute SG - £500
Egnater Vengeance Head - £500 (what I paid for new from GG on their blowout)
Egnater Vengeance 4x12 - £250 (what I paid for new from GG on their blowout)
    Jet City JCA22H - £210
    Line 6 G30 - £200
    TC Polytune Mini - £60
    Ibanez TS808 - £180
    Dunlop Wah - £100
    Zoom G3 - £125

    Approx - £4600 ish

Probably used to go out with about £8k odd's worth of gear in previous bands :o

My live rig is a fraction of what I own... but I could probably the live rig for less than a grand... much less.

But the rest of it...like, Drew, too bloody much!!

Don't assume that.  I reckon you might be on 192.com from 1 minutes worth of googling using only information I can access from this page.  Google yourself and see if that postcode is correct.  If it is, the whole address looks like it could be bought through the site.  I will happily delete this post (or am happy for you to delete it) but if people aren't aware of 192.com they should be.

What's the number one place where gear goes missing? It's not from your house, it's at gigs (or when it's left in the car). At which point...everybody in the place can see who's got the valuable/portable gear, so they know exactly who to target. It's far more likely that anyone would fall prey to that than somebody in your local area happens to find this forum, browses until they find you with lots of gear, looks up your address, discovers you're local then nicks all your gear.

Besides which...if you really wanted to use this forum to figure out who to target and this thread didn't exist, it's just as easy to peruse the classifieds, look for the really high-value items and see who bought them. Or all the GAS threads etc.

  • No I totally agree with that I was just making the point that home addresses aren't as private as you'd expect a lot of the time.

I shudder when I remember that a few of years ago I did an inventory of my sound, light and stage equipment.

Much of it gone now (or vastly devalued by new technology), but for a time there.....I could have bought a fancy new car with the proceeds.

It would be safe to say I have known what GAS is.

resale value of what I took out live bugger all as everything is pretty roadworn but replacement value of two MIJ Fenders, 50w valve combo, half a dozen pedals, board, Hiscox cases, etc, getting toward a couple of grand if buying new I suppose. Ridiculous really for playing grotty pubs where £50 each was a really good night.
