^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ - that looks so cool
Thanks and it's probably the coolest thing I've built so far, I absolutely love the look of custom binding that's aged.

Yeah it is! Missed this post the other day. I do love my Custom but it is nearly 11lbs. This looks like a much more sensible way to do it. The headstock is better too. Superb
11lbs is just ridiculous, I wouldn't even want 9lb now, if you're going to Bristol come and have a go

Yeah it is a lump. Didn't bother me so much when I was a regular at the gym! I am playing a PRS S2 Standard in my band now, you barely know it's there. The extra scale length means you can dig in a bit harder too

I will be at the show, it's more or less next door to me now. Look forward to checking out your guitars, it's been a while :-)

Excited to play the Custom and Goldtop at the Bristol guitar show. I’m sure they sound as incredible as they look  :)

Thanks I'm pretty excited about these, they've got me back into a LP style guitar, the problem was I got used to lightweight and comfortable.

New model called the underdog, it's a 40mm thick body and built like my usual vintage stuff, I've done a 2 way truss rod but in a vintage maple filler strip style as a prototype, I'll be using this on everything in future, it works really well and only a 6mm allen key access hole.
The idea is use different woods and pickups for different tones, it's bigger than my pugilist but smaller than a jazzmaster and i like how this is turning out.

Had an original 54 goldtop over and did a quick compare, nothing in it apart from about 20k

Can't remember if you played this one, anyone who says you can't get near the old ones is talking utter crap, this proves it imo.

I played them both mate. They sounded and felt just like vintage guitars to me. You've really struck the balance there

My version of a 59 burst is nearly done, just the binding to do then string up, the fretboards are built up on the neck after the binding rebate is cut into the full width neck, it makes it look right but alot more work
This is built exactly like the other carved tops but I'm using a 2 way truss rod with threaded ends so I can put a maple filler strip in like the vintage ones, all because I use hot hide glue on these builds.

My stripped down Riffraff lite is an oil finish junior using a Spanish cedar body and neck, Indian rosewood fretboard, Jescar frets, gotoh tuners, I'll be moving to a faber tone bar with vintage studs and bushes, pickup is a mojo dog ear p90 that is very versatile, I've had this out gigging with Tom Kuras who's a great all rounder, functions, his own projects, he's been out playing with Beth Rowley lately and playing Bass with Elles Bailey who I really like.
