    Too obvious.

Pink Daisy rock 12-string, but with the second course tuned in fifths for one-finger power chords.

Uh-oh. Vintage style "lightning bolt" wraparound bridge, compensated for a wound G string. Is that a cue for a thong?
You say, atom bomb. I say, tin of corned beef.

My band were booked for a punk gig once. Was great fun. I used a thinline 72 tele reissue in CAR.

Took more than a few dings that night.

  • As I remember, the ideal punk guitar was "Whatever cheap piece of crap your dad could buy off a mate at work", but then I was 12 or 13 at the time.

Interesting that I spend a lot of time in Europe ... mostly Finland ... going to punk gigs ... and there a wider range of guitars seem to be used. Not unusual to see Jacksons, Flying Vs, even the odd semi acoustic ... and lots of SGs.

That was the myth, but the most famous protagonists seemed very upper middle class to a lot of us at the time.

"Just any old Gibson and Twin Reverb you found lying around in the garage", yeah right.

It took me almost a year in the late 70s to track down someone who owned any kind of electric guitar where I lived, and even that was just a piece of plywood with five strings on it.

Many guitars have a re-sale value. Some you'll never want to sell.

I would love to change my username, but I fully understand the T&C's (it was an old band nickname). So please feel free to call me Dave.

I found an SG or a Les Paul Special worked well for me - but I also used my Les Paul Goldtop (p90s) and that sounded incredible.

Honestly, though - the gear is the least important part of playing punk properly.

I'm pretty sure you can play punk on a ukelele if you're punk enough.

I've been happiest with any decent humbucker bridge pickup over the years. Type of guitar doesn't matter.
