There are still 'experts' who argue whether some of the early LedZep stuff is Tele or Lester. and yes it is! ;-)
For decades people have argued that one. So a tele already sounds like a LP when you play it that way. If you want the tones a LP does up the dusty end you need the scale length, neck joint and timber mix and some PAFs.

I respect all the makers that can get in the area by tweaking the designs and thier knowledge of timber/PUs etc. Don't forget the Nashville versions of Teles for extra versatility (although not strictly Lester influenced).
