Yeah, me too. I was half expecting “Arrrggghh! I’ve changed my mind!” or “Oh noes, the car dealer has found a massive problem, so it’s back to square one”.

I know what you mean, all this blanket coverage of the moon landing.
No mention of the brave Welshman who will shortly be attempting the perilous journey from Cornwall to Swansea in nothing more than a Korean tin can.

While checking out a mooring this week a bloke rolled up in a recent'ish Hyundie.
He had a very long face.

The power steering had packed up whilst the motor was parked up overnight.
After a websearch he'd found that other people had had their PS pack up whilst driving around bends.

The model was not a velocipede/velociraptor/velo solex/ veloster.
I've got no idea if the same system/components are common to the veloster.
Or indeed if the same problem occurs with other brands.

         Might be worth checking though...............

It certainly does. My daughter's boyfriend's Focus has a recurring problem with it. Whether it's common with Fords or not, I have no idea...

On doing more research, I've discovered that huge numbers of cars also suffer with faults in various parts of the car.  I'll be sure to check out for faults!

The main part of the Hyundai Veloster that has faults is - I hear - in the driver's seat ...
    ;)

Indeed!  Today, I bought the train tickets for the 6h30 journey to collect my Lime green mid-life crisis!  I have the day off from work.

T minutes whatever next Monday morning is.

I just hope I actually like it!  There is the possibility, of course, that I will dislike the car for whatever reason...  Comfort, visibility, a smell of month-old mackerel, who knows?

However, all being well, throughout the afternoon of the 29th, I should be driving back from Cornwall in my luminous green freakmobile.

Of course!  I can't promise there will be much on the return journey, but I'm sure I can take some shots from the train and picking the car up etc!

Are you not taking Mrs Emp?  she could do a live commentary as you come back up the A30, or she could critique pasties.

My final piece of advice for this thread is hold that pasty as tight as you can, Mrs R. had hers stolen by a gull in Newquay the other week.

I'm serious here, they're an absolute menace (gulls, not wives!)

No need - just set his phone to livestream it on Facebook (or whatever). If he's anything like me, that journey will basically be a slow descent into buyer's-remorse-induced insanity.

Cornish gulls are cissies.  In Devon they're taking dogs.

    That's not a dog.  That's a mouse in disguise.

They wouldn't go near a proper dog.

Haha yeah I read that too - I'm sure they've been training them to bait the Grockles, they were never that savage when I was a kid!

I jest of course, we had a great welcome from everyone we spoke to - love that corner of the island.  I'm envious of Emp even if he's only going to do a pick-up. :)
