Trains are notoriously reliable - particularly on long, cross-country journeys, with lots of connections to make, on a weekend.

Have you convened a committee to inspect the car? Frankly, having read this whole debacle I'm not surprised. I will also not be surprised when you walk away from it for not being a seven seater.

This is the cheapest way to get there.  It would cost more in fuel, never mind hire charges or beer to a mate to drive down.  By using split-ticketing, I've halved the cost of the train journey, using the same trains but getting seven tickets for various legs of the trip.

I've collected cars from afar on numerous occasions and that's what I do too.  Did you use "Trainline" to plan it ?
I think you're going to enjoy your new motor.  I considered a Veloster for Mrs LedZep when we changed her Hyundai Coupe, but a Saab convertible won out in the end.

I bought a car yesterday. Drove to Coventry, did all the finance paperwork, Pick it up tomorrow (probably before Emp gets his, with his 50 train legs ).
