Do they work?

I have a couple of leather straps that are getting rather baggy at the ends.

I've used cheap straps for years and just replaced them when worn, but these were a present and I'd quite like to keep them.

Thanks in advance......

They’re a win-win - you get to drink beer, and they keep your strap on (be careful how you say that...)

    Yes, work well.
I play guitar because I enjoy it rather than because I’m any good at it

Depends on the guitar I think. They’re great on my SG but I had one pop off the top button on a Les Paul so didn’t trust it with that guitar. LP top strap button seems to be in the perfect positions for the strap to be pulled off.

Either those or those cheap plastic Dunlop clip locks.

The Dunlop ‘Ergo’ locks are better.

The washer things work fine for me. I have had a couple that seemed to perish and split so it's worth keeping an eye on them.

  • Hmm, might just give them a go.

No one round here sells Grolsch in bottles.
Might try a bag of washers from t'internet and buy some ALDI vintage cider.

I had those and they fell apart! Thank God it wasn't while on the guitar.

I bought the Fender product that's basically just those Grolsch tops. If I wasn't a recovering alcoholic I'd have been happy just using the beer one. Or if I'd have known about the non-branded bulk ones I might have got those.

Fender sell something similar , or you can go to somewhere that sells homebrew supplies - like a branch of Wilko  and they sell them cheaply too....or you can treat yourself to a couple of bottles of beer  and use those.

I don’t use anything else. I tried the Dunlop ones, but didn’t like them at all.

Beware imitations .I bought some and they were smelly and a weird colour .Only Grolsch are cool .Fake ones  just dont  look jazz .A bit like PRS .

  • I’ve used them a lot. Although one of my guitars  I changed them and used 2 American quarters with holes drilled in the middle and screwed the strap/quarters directly to the guitar
