First thing that immediately came to mind was the Wampler Pinnacle. It really is VH1 in a box. I love that pedal.
    Wasn't VH1 released in 1978?

Close but it's five bags of cocaine and a chorus

Still have my ME-5 from 87 or 88. Was going to sell but dang me if it still doesn't do some useful things. Even if what I want from it is a fraction of what it was meant to do. "Step away from the flanger".

Arion pedals. Although they mostly expired within minutes of being plugged in.

@Corvus - You need to visit my webpage dedicated to getting more from your ME-5 !!!   ==> link below

That's yours is it! Seen that before, good stuff. The ol' things only used now as a small board in a different room, doesn't see a lot of action now but it has done in the past.

The 90s version of which was of course 'Four poufs and a piano'.

Indeed it was, but I guess I associate that tone with a lot of 80s music. For some odd reason, I hear that tone in Lynch's work on Back for the Attack for example. Not an exact replica clearly, but something about its personality

    I'd buy..,.

    Boss CS-2
    Boss SD-1 (for solo's)
J.Rockett 10 Ton Hammer (trust me on this one...)
    Boss Dimension C
    Boss DD3

Oh and a stripey Blazer & mullet with Jeans & cowboy boots for the full Steve Farris effect.

Rockett 10 Ton Hammer sounds great in a clean amp, and has buckets of volume and gain plus really usable bass and treble eq controls
