Thunderball or Help, which would you choose?

Seeing as my parents brought me up on a diet of James Bond and Carry on films I’d have to say Thunderball, the fact I can’t stand the Beatles doesn’t help (excuse the pun).
Tomorrow will be a good day.

1964, some good stuff - A Fistful of Dollars, The Killers, Carry on Cleo, Carry on Spying, Seance on a Wet Afternoon, Woman in the Dunes, Goldfinger, Onibaba, The Masque of the Red Death, Zulu.

But I am going to go for Mario Bava's Blood and Black Lace.

I've only seen one film from my year of birth (1987), the Living Daylights James Bond film, and it was utter crap
I was also born in '87 - and whilst The Living Daylights is not the best James Bond film - all of these films from our Birth Year are excellent - some more so than others.

    Lethal Weapon
    Beverley Hills Cop II
    Harry and the Hendersons
    The Untouchables
    Predator
    Spaceballs
    Full Metal Jacket
    Robocop
    The Lost Boys
    No Way Out
    Dirty Dancing
    Fatal Attraction
    The Princess Bride
    The Running Man
    Wall Street
    Batteries Not Included
    Good Morning Vietnam

If I was going to recommend 3 from this list, I'd say Robocop, Dirty Dancing and The Princess Bride.   To be honest, you can't go wrong with most of the list (Harry and the Hendersons and Batteries Not Included are kids films, but still cool)

  • Good question! I honestly had no idea what movies were released in my birth year (1982), not something I've ever thought about.

Turns out there were some corkers though.

'Blade Runner' is the winner for me, though 'E.T.', `The Thing', 'The Verdict' and 'Sophie's Choice' all good contenders!

The Sting or Enter the Dragon. Pat Garrett and Billy The Kid for best soundtrack.

Mine is a toss up between A Fistful of Dollars or Goldfinger, though there are some interesting looking ones I've never seen.

    1974 erm.

Godfather 2, Texas chainsaw massacre, man with the golden gun, herbie rides again, blazing saddles and emmanuelle seem to be the main contenders.
