Unfortunately it's bound to be something with Buster Keaton or the Keystone Cops
Indeed!  However I found mine (1949) included some gems:

    The Third Man
    Whisky Galore
    White Heat
    Kind Hearts And Coronets
    Mighty Joe Young
    Adam's Rib

    And some real rubbish.

The Godfather or Deliverance. Not possible to pick between those.

A few goodies from 1960 :-) ... 'Psycho', 'The Magnificent Seven' and 'Spartacus'.

Also 'La Dolce Vita', but I've never seen that one.

'72, so by most measures it should be The Godfather...but being a bit of a Tarkovsky nut, I'll go for Solaris.

1964, some good stuff - A Fistful of Dollars, The Killers, Carry on Cleo, Carry on Spying, Seance on a Wet Afternoon, Woman in the Dunes, Goldfinger, Onibaba, The Masque of the Red Death, Zulu.

But I am going to go for Mario Bava's Blood and Black Lace.
64 for me as well, I'm going for ... er ... Carry on Cleo. I'm a sucker for Carry on films.

It's worth seeing - it's maybe a bit dated now but still one of the all-time greats. If you want a copy on DVD, I've got one that was a freebie with a newspaper ages ago - PM me your address and you can have it.

Can't decide between "taxi driver" and "adventures of a taxi driver".

There's actually some crackers from '76.

There really are some great films from ‘76. I chose Rocky as it inspired me to take up the gloves for a while.
Tomorrow will be a good day.

    1967

There are a lot of more credible candidates - in particular Bonnie And Clyde, Don't Look Back, The Graduate, and In The Heat Of The Night, but for my favourite it's probably...

    The Jungle Book

    I'm 1967 as well.

All great films but I might have to go for Barefoot in the Park just because Jane Fonda is gorgeous in it.

Run Silent Run Deep is good,
Dunkirk - the original is better.
but it has to be Ice Cold in Alex

When I started thinking about this question, I was certain I'd have a Fellini and a Kubrick to choose from (or at least add to my shortlist).  But Fellini didn't have a film out in 1964, and for Kubrick there was Dr Strangelove, which I've never particularly liked.
