And Gail Ann Dorsey is beyond awesome on bass and the vocals on Under Pressure. Love it!

That said the opening chords to Ziggy Stardust sounded a bit rough

She does look suspiciously like Tony Levin, though. I wonder if they have ever been seen in the same room

That was the only Glastonbury I've ever actually been to. Bowie's set was great.

This is the full set, the BBC showed an abridged version a while ago which I enjoyed immensely ( and I wouldn’t say I’m a particular Bowie fan at all)so I’ll try to watch this at some point.
I think Slick is playing through the Ampeg and Mark Plati is using the Line 6? Earl is/ was an Ampeg endorsee.

“Heroes” sucks without Fripp’s lead guitar parts. The only remotely acceptable substitute would be Belew.

I really enjoyed it. Reminds me of what a great artist he was with so many classic songs.
    It's not a competition.

Bowie has always surrouded himself with great musicians, that band was great!

And he played Stay and Station to Station, that's enough to make me happy

Saw her a few years back playing bass and doing backup vocals for Lenny Kravitz and she was just as incredible.

To be fair, it is a heavily customized Peavey, which was made just for him in some sort of endorsement deal.

No idea how he gets a Line 6 to sound good though.
Just so people are aware. I have no idea what any of these words mean.

It was immense, could tell from the first moment he walked out that it was going to be something special. I have no idea how many people were at the main stage, but I doubt there has ever been a bigger crowd. It was a very chaotic out of control feeling festival, wall was down, totally overcrowded and in truth probably not a safe place to be, but I think that all added to the atmosphere of this set. Pretty sure the UK will never see a festival like that ever again.

This Millenium era Bowie is peak Bowie for me.

Loved the hair. The long cost. The band. The set list.

Great albums around this era as well - hours, Heathen, and Reality.

Also the Bowie at the Beeb CD that came out around this time with the Ronson songs for the John Peel sessions in the early 70s is amazing. I bought it in release and it had a bonus disc with the songs Bowie did at the BBC a few days after this Glastonbury show. Incredible performance and production.

Could gush all day about Bowie.

Yes I think that was probably the last year when many thousands of people snuck in without paying. The crowding on the site was pretty scary at times.
