That was his final effort after a run of 200 before he switched production to making clothes pegs.

Are we going to just sit here and ignore the BMW sofa cushion?
    Perhaps best to really.. :)

Whoever owns it seems to have a rack of proper guitars too... did they make it as some sort of joke? I wonder how well it actually plays?

Anyway, are there any more home made axes anyone has photos of to share?

I like the way he's reduced the thickness of the neck heel area - then put it next to a sharp V-shaped cutaway which could only be accessed by somebody with flippers.

You! Yes you over there ......... Put down the luthiery tools and step away from the wood. Step away from the wood Sir ..... This tazer finger is mighty itchy .... just step away from the wood ...

That looks a bit like someone has made a guitar that I've drawn a picture of (I'm really not very good at drawing...). Which leads me to think we have a possible Tap/Stonehenge moment here

I wonder why he bothered to cut the Vee in the body near the end of the neck.  Everyone knows that there is little music to be had at that part of the neck...............

I like the strap hooks. Obviously planned on using string or rope instead of a strap. I'm not sure I could live with the knob placement though.

Totally the wrong style of knobs for that guitar.

With that in mind how did Brian May and his dad get so much right first time, as far as they are concerned - I'm not sure if there was any mk1 or mk2 versions
Because they were very clever, skilled people and took their time to get it right. If I remember rightly it took at least a couple of years to build, and they researched every part before committing to it.
Exactly.  Just like me and my father but we pinned a subbuteo pitch to a table.

How did he make the strings change direction like that - and with such precision? The 4th and 5th brings actually cross each other exactly at the 15th fret.  Just imagine the Allman Brothers' type harmonies...

...and 21 frets, with a double marker on the non-existent 22nd fret.

    That's just amazing...Wow...!!!

There are some home made horrors on Reverb, too. Some are well executed but poorly designed, and vice versa. Some are just nuts.
