Such is the challenge for DC, their best films currently rank alongside middling to weak marvel entries.

Will always love they have proper RAF Typhoons in TDW though, not just using an old F-16 model and sticking RAF roundels on it (cough Independence Day cough).

A hundred times better than the hodge podge they released in 2017. Even at 4 hours long the pacing and editing all fits together well. The characters are all well presented with enough screen time, except maybe one that they could've just left out. But I guess they wanted to set him up for future sequels.

I watched the 2017 version again last night (first time since seeing it in the cinema) and it is still laughably bad. The piss-poor editing, pacing, reshoots... after watching the Snyder Cut it really makes you wonder what the studio was smoking to think it was acceptable to put something out so shit.

Yeah to be fair I don't think he makes a good Joker, especially compared to Ledger and Phoenix.

I went through loads of DC a few years back, mainly batman, superman, green lantern  and swamp thing. As well as some of the crisisisisisis.

I picked up some Thor and spiderman to try and do the same for Marvel and it was childish pap in comparison. I just couldn't get into it, and it put me off trying more.

A bit of both actually, but yes, mainly the films. However, the DC characters can also be a bit naff IMO. Superman is the main culprit - I mean, just wtf does he look like?? That big poncy red, pointless cape? Lovely red knee high boots too. I think on the whole, the Marvel characters were just, cooler perhaps, less ridiculous (in as much as the whole thing is ridiculous of course)

Some of the DC comic stories did indeed get dark, Dark Knight, but then Marvel has had it's own share of dark adult grit too. 

Film wise, it's no contest. The DC lot has largely been poor with a few notable exceptions (Batman, Joker). 

personal opinion I know. 

Watched about another hour of the Snyder cut, I quite like it. It is better than the other version, and I/m not noticing the 4:3 aspect as much as I thought I would. 

Jason Momoa is a notable bassist btw.

It's basically a shit Avengers isn't it? Same bad guy arriving through the same portal chasing the same artifacts.
The female is bad ass.
There's a billionaire who builds weapons.
There's even a longhaired beefcake living in Scandinavia who likes a drink.
I'll stick with it but it feels so unoriginal.

The irony, of course, is that the DC versions of those characters were the originals...
