Blimey, Andy... you've surpassed yourself here. Thats gorgeous. As the proud owner of one of your creations, I'm sure it'll be as wonderful to play as to look at.

    Bravo!

  • That's an amazing piece of work, Andy. Truly stunning looking guitar. Thanks for sharing photos of the build process - impressive and educational in equal measure! :-)

  • For those following this thread I have now collected the guitar. NGD post to follow...

once again I would like to say thanks to Andy. I imagine I gave him a few headaches along the way and on occasion I liked to pause to make sure I was making the right decisions on various aspects of the build.
He was a saint throughout and a really top man to deal with.

I will have to see what craziness I can dream up for the next build, Floyd rose 8 string acoustic anyone? :-)
The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

It'd need to be fanned fret really.

Though Andy's (secretly) always fancied building one of these ...

Having trouble posting images here?  This might help.
