None of this addresses the most important, most serious point: are we now going to see the return of airbrushed guitar art finishes? I was fully expecting a SS with 'Crash-style' paint. Or maybe something from an Athena store, circa 1984

We’ve got it on this morning and I think most of the reviews are on the money. There is nothing original in there and so far I’ve had strains of Clapton, naturally. Also The Eagles, Jack Johnson, Mr Mister, Mark Cohn and many more ‘home boy’ one hit wonders

Its also consummately crafted, really easy on the ear and I’m sure it’ll get more plays here. 

In a lot of ways it feels like the new Gary Kemp affair, Insolo.

My wife really loves Why you no love me - to make matters worse she studied languages can speak about 7 of them and can be a real pain in the butt over grammer - But this she finds cute !

I don't think a knowledge of 7 languages and grammar makes any difference to appreciating (or not appreciating) a 40-something man singing a song in weird pidgin English.

As with these type of publication, it's a non-review, nothing in the content suggests that they gave it more than a cursory listen.

Have a read of the NYTimes review, that's much more on the money.

I agree, posting that 9/10 review was meant to be a bit satirical.

edit: just had a look at the nyt review which is accurate in places but, imo, is more pretentious than the album in review. There are 3 words I’d actually need to look up in a dictionary..and my vocabulary isn’t poor.
