It looks... Rushed. Chips, odd carving, finish looks a bit uneven in places. The neck pickup cavity looks like it's a bit out as well, and the action looks very high indeed but could be the camera...

I'd not be very happy if I paid for that.

Those frets look pretty poor (not seated properly, shabby ends), as does the neck pocket, from what i can see of it. Looks like the first  guitar i built back in 6th form.

Its exactly like this....I understand that indie builds cost ££££....but I got a Yamaha Revstar for under £400 that blows it apart.

Raffle it on here, the winner gets to burn it and post the video on any future Ian Elson threads.
That really isn't a bad idea, I'd buy a ticket.

    Fucking hell- that is shoddy.

There is no excuse for fretwork that bad- I don't know how it is possible to do it that poorly in truth.

I've heard of guitars playing like butter, but the nut looks like it's made out of it.

    Agree. The fretwork looks horrific.

@spark240 how is the action of the strings? It looks insanely high.

Oddly its not as bad as it looks, there's probably room to improve it, the frets are in bad shape, sharp edges in particular.

Unless the pickups are something  "boutique" and pricey, I do not see £500-worth of electric guitar in the photographs.

The gaps between the fingerboard and frets could be caused by poor installation or by severe wood shrinkage. (The latter would suggest either workshop humidity issues or poor lumber selection.)

The initial guitar raffle idea strikes me as cynical. Imply that a prize is worth £500. Hope to sell £750-worth of tickets. Dispose of a unsellable guitar and trouser a wad of cash.

Stumble onward into the next crisis.
You say, atom bomb. I say, tin of corned beef.

I can't be bothered to go back and read the whole other thread, but I've a feeling it said he uses Bare Knuckles?  So you've got those, a nice Gotoh bridge and some decent Grover tuners.  Certainly nowhere near 500 quid's worth, but at least they're worth salvaging to sell or use elsewhere.

I bought a PRS SE One a while ago for less than £300 and the quality difference between that and these guitars is staggering

The last time he was in the dock here, he came over all contrite and full of remorse. Now he seems to have gone on to bigger and badder things. I'm surprised he hasn't got himself a mission statement dripping with core ethical values and charitable objectives.

what pisses me off is that he takes advantage of folk in this way!. Not just screwing over the OP in the way that he has but by praying on others that know no different.
I’m assuming his customers are the sort that don’t know what a good guitar is and think they are getting something decent as it’s “hand made”.

Would be good if we could get his little tale in the guitar press somehow?
